As you may have heard, the Untitled art fair, which appears annually in Miami as a satellite to Art Basel Miami Beach, is launching a San Francisco edition in January and today it announced the galleries that will be participating. There are 49 names on the list from “16 vibrant cities,” including blue chippers like Andrew Kreps of New York and Galerie Perrotin (of New York, Paris, Hong Kong, and Seoul) and younger outfits like Château Shatto of Los Angeles and Et Al. of San Francisco. The fair runs this year from January 13 through 15 at Pier 70 in the city’s Dogpatch neighborhood.
Will San Francisco become an art-market hotspot? Hard to say, but it appears that dealers are certainly going to give it the old college try!
