An installation view of the booth of Clearing, of New York and Brussels, at Independent 2016.
ETIENNE FROSSARD
As the art world begins to go dark in preparation for the coming new year—may it be better than 2016—here’s some news to help you get your calendar in order.
Independent New York, which takes place each year during Armory Week in New York, is scheduled to run from March 2 to March 5 at Spring Studios in Tribeca for a second time, after relocating there last year from the former Dia building in Chelsea.
The fair, now in its eighth edition, will include 46 exhibitors, a mix of international galleries and nonprofit spaces, from 18 different cities. Among the big names are Gavin Brown, Anton Kern, Lehmann Maupin, Mitchell-Innes & Nash, Galerie Perrotin, and Sprüth Magers, who are joined by smaller outfits, like New York galleries like Invisible Exports and JTT, Zurich’s Francesca Pia, London’s Carlos/Ishikawa, and Berlin’s Peres Projects.
