Mexico City’s Labor gallery announced today that it now represents Yuri Pattison, the Irish-born, London-based artist who won this year’s Frieze Artist Award.
Pattison has become known for his multimedia work that loosely focuses on production and consumption on the Internet. His work often takes the form of multiscreen video installations and explores the flow of data across networks. Surveillance, on- and offline labor, and changing technologies also appear in his work.
Pattison’s work is currently on view in New York at the International Center of Photography, where his video 1014 (2015) can be found in the museum’s inaugural show. In July, as the culmination of a two-year residency at Chisenhale Gallery in London, Pattison will debut a new site-specific commission there. A few months later, Pattison will also produce a new installation for this year’s Frieze London art fair.
