Rokeby Gallery in London will shutter after 13 years in business. The gallery’s last show was an exhibition of new work by Sam Dargan that closed on December 12.
The gallery was opened by Beth and Ed Greenacre in London’s Fitzrovia neighborhood in 2005, and later relocated to Clerkenwell in 2013. Over the years, the gallery has shown work by JJ Charlesworth, Alastair Duncan, Liam Gillick, Jessica Jackson Hutchins, Oliver Laric, Haroon Mirza, Sean Raspet, John Russell, and Jesse Wine, among others.
“After 13 years of exhibitions, art fairs, and 440 litres of white paint, Rokeby gallery operations have now closed,” the gallery said in a statement. “First and foremost, we would like to thank the 77 artists we have met and presented, many of whom have become close friends. We will continue to engage with the collectors, curators, writers and collaborators and friends who have supported us over the years in our new roles within the art community.”
