Thomas Fougeirol and Jo-ey Tang have been added to the roster of the New York gallery Lyles & King, where they will have an exhibition in the fall of 2019.
An ongoing collaborative project by the artists called The Plates of the Present invites artists to create photograms, and editions of the project have been shown in various formats at La Cantine de Belleville in Paris, Baxter St / Camera Club in New York, and other locations. Since Fouegeirol and Tang started the project in 2013, it has involved more than 150 artists. An exhibition of works produced through the project at Lyles & King in 2017, titled “Bullet Through Glass,” featured photographs by Harold Edgerton.
Fougeirol’s work is in the collections of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Margulies Collection in Miami, and the Fundacion Antonio Pérez in Cuenca, Spain, among other institutions. He is also represented by Praz-Delavallade (Paris and Los Angeles) and Albertz Benda (New York).
Tang worked as arts editor at n+1 magazine from 2009 to 2014, and he was a curator at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris from 2014 to 2015. He currently serves as director of exhibitions at the Beeler Gallery of Columbus College of Art & Design in Ohio, and he has shown work at Galerie Nathalie Obadia in Paris, Komplot in Brussels, and elsewhere.
