Marinaro Gallery, the Lower East Side space run by Lauren Marinaro, will move to Chinatown this September. Its new digs, at 1 Oliver Street, puts the gallery within walking distance of Foxy Production, Jeffrey Stark, Regina Rex, Reena Spaulings, and Sargent’s Daughters, among others.
Formerly located on the second floor of 319 Grand Street, Marinaro Gallery grew out of Feuer/Mesler, a gallery cofounded by Zach Feuer and Joel Mesler, which shuttered this past February. Feuer and Mesler handed over the keys to Marinaro, who had been a director and partner at that gallery.
The gallery will kick off its programming in its Chinatown space with a show of new works by Hannah Whitaker in September. An exhibition of paintings by Bernard Buhmann will follow in October.
