Matthew Darbyshire, who makes figurative sculptures using technically sophisticated means, is now represented by Lisa Cooley, the Lower East Side gallery announced today. The news comes on the first day of Darbyshire’s Manchester Art Gallery survey, “An Exhibition for Modern Living,” which highlights his body of work from 2005 to the present, and will run through January 10, 2016.
The Rochester, England-based artist has been featured in solo exhibitions at Lisa Cooley, Krolikarnia National Museum in Warsaw, and the Hepworth Wakefield in West Yorkshire, among others. Additionally, his installation and sculptural works have been included in group exhibition’s at Cambridge University’s Fitzwilliam Museum, Warsaw’s National Museum, Glasgow International Airport, London’s Royal Academy of Art and Saatchi Gallery, and the Tate Britain.
