The 26th edition of ArteBA opens to the public in Buenos Aires on Wednesday, May 24. The fair will bring together more than 91 galleries from 20 countries to the Argentine capital.
The fair is divided into seven categories, with numerous galleries participating in multiple sections. The Main Section features established galleries, some of which are broken into two sub-divisions: Special Projects Patio Bullrich, for booths showing up to three artists, and Cabinet AA2000, which presents single-artist booths.
Beyond the Main Section, Solo Show Zurich, curated by Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy, presents solo shows of Latin American artists. The U-TURN Project Rooms by Mercedes-Benz, curated by Chris Sharp, brings 15 galleries from abroad. The Barrio Joven Chandon, curated by Raúl Flores and Miguel A. López, highlights 15 “new, innovative or alternative spaces representing young emerging artists.” And the “Dixit: rro” section, curated by Sarah Demeuse and Javier Villa, “will focus on the future from the standpoint of ‘…a visceral and intensified need to be in the present,’ ” according to a press release.
