Some news coming to the ARTnews Decision 2016 Desk here in Manhattan on Tuesday evening: Rashid Johnson will be supporting Hillary Clinton in the presidential race.
On Instagram, he shared a picture of his New York City “I voted” sticked affixed to his black shirt, and added the hashtags #vote and #imwithher.
Like Clinton, Johnson is a fan of the Chicago Cubs, who last week won their first World Series in over a century. Both Johnson and Clinton have thrown out the first pitch at Wrigley Field. There are about a thousand other reasons to vote for Clinton over Donald Trump, but hey, the Cubbies! They both like them!
Also note that fellow artist Mary Weatherford took to the comments section of the Instagram post to say “HERSTORY” and a look at her Instagram page reveals that she, too, is a fervent Clinton supporter.
Polls are open until 9 p.m. in New York, and we’ll alert you to any late-breaking news that comes across the transom here at the headquarters. At the moment—based solely on the responses we’re getting from artists and museum directors—it’s looking quite good for Hillary Clinton.
