BENJAMIN EAGLE/COURTESY DOMINIQUE LÉVY, NEW YORK AND LONDON
Dominique Lévy announced today that Robert Sheffield will be joining the gallery’s London branch as associate director. Sheffield currently works at Christie’s, where he has been the associate director of the UK chairman’s office since 2010. He will start at Dominique Lévy in October.
Prior to his stint at Christie’s, Sheffield opened Nuba Ltd., a contemporary-art dealership that staged pop-up shows around England. In addition to his work for Christie’s, Sheffield is the chairman of the Serpentine Galleries’s Future Contemporaries Committee, which is comprised of collectors and philanthropists under the age of 40, and an ambassador for the Tate.
Sheffield will begin his time with Dominique Lévy on October 12, the same day that a 50th-anniversary exhibition of Gerhard Richter’s “Colour Charts” series opens at the London gallery.
