Rozalia Jovanovic, the former editor-in-chief of Artnet News and a reporter for publications including Art & Auction, will be the new director of New York’s Collective Design fair. She takes the reins from Jillian Choi, who has overseen the past four editions of the fair, and will be joined by Deborah Harris, who will now be Collective Design’s director of art initiatives. The next edition of the fair is slated for March 2018.
Jovanovic began writing for Artnet News in 2014 and was named executive editor that same year. One year later, she was promoted to editor-in-chief after Benjamin Genocchio left to become executive director of the Armory Show in New York. Jovanovic left her editorial position last February. At Collective Design, she will work to maintain the fair’s ties to collectors and exhibiting galleries.
Harris comes to Collective Design from the Armory Show, where she was deputy director. In her new role, she will help oversee new commissions and other curatorial projects.
Steven Learner, Collective Design’s founder and creative director, said in a statement, “Rozalia has extensive knowledge of and experience with international contemporary art, culture, and luxury, and Debbie brings with her years of experience in the art and fair worlds.”
