Just days before Hong Kong elects its new leader, Art Basel Hong Kong opened to the public on Thursday and continues through Saturday. Situated along the northern waterfront of Hong Kong Island and flanked on one side by a major construction site, the fair takes place at the Hong Kong Convention Center in the neighborhood known as Wan Chai. The average temperature has hovered around 65 degrees, and though the Asian installment of Art Basel generally feels less chaotic than the others, tickets sold out on the first public day of the fair. Read an ARTnewsreport from the beginning of the fair here. Below, take a look around the show and a few concurrent events.
