The New Art Dealers Alliance has announced the winners of the second annual NADA Miami Beach International Gallery Prize: Carne Gallery from Bogotá and Dawid Radziszewski, a gallery based in Warsaw. The prize is supported by the kind ticket-buying patrons of the Miami Beach fair.
As winners of the prize, the galleries will participate in NADA Miami Beach for their first time, in a booth paid for by the fair. A press release explained that the artist-run Carne Gallery will present work that explores “notions of unproductiveness, hyper-consumerism and leisure as spaces for resistance and life,” with work on view by the Bogotá-based artists Adriana Martinez, Santiago Pinyol, Mariana Murcia, and Juan Sebastian Pelaez.
Dawid Radziszewki’s booth will feature two Polish artists from different generations: Adam Rzepecki (b. 1950) and Tomasz Kowalski (b. 1984).
“NADA is a global alliance, and we’re proud that NADA Miami Beach has become an opportunity for galleries from around the world to forge new relationships and reach new audiences,” Heather Hubbs, NADA’s executive director, said in a statement, adding that the prize “adds another layer of diversity to the fair.”
