Nicole Calderón has been tapped to be director of Timothy Taylor’s New York gallery. She joins Taylor from Tina Kim Gallery in Chelsea, where she was a director.
Taylor, who also has a space in London, said in a news release “With Nicole’s appointment, we will be able to build on the success that the gallery has already found in New York since opening in 2016. Nicole will play a pivotal role in the gallery’s growth in the U.S. and beyond. I am delighted to welcome her to the gallery.”
The roster of artists at Taylor includes includes Ding Yi, Shezad Dawood, and Volker Hüller, and its New York location has so far focused on tautly organized jewel-box-like shows by figures like Philip Guston, Alex Katz, Luis Barragán, and more.
Calderón will start at Taylor immediately, and this evening the New York gallery will host an opening reception for an exhibition of new paintings by Richard Patterson from 6 to 8 p.m.
