Venus, the gallery founded in 2012 by collector Adam Lindemann, announced today that gallery director Anna Furney has been made a partner. Furney has been with the gallery since March 2012, when Lindemann opened its original space in Manhattan. The gallery has hosted unconventional exhibitions by artists such as William Copley, Raymond Pettibon, Andra Ursuta, and Maurizio Cattelan.
In 2015 Lindemann opened a 15,000-square-foot location in Los Angeles, and earlier this year Venus presented an exhibition of 20th-century American artist H. C. Westermann in the Spotlight section of the Frieze New York art fair.
