Roberts & Tilton gallery in Los Angeles announced today that it now represents the Chinese artist Zhao Zhao. He will have his second show with the gallery in spring 2018.
Zhao’s multifaceted practice takes the rapidly changing socio-political landscape of China as its departure point. Using photography, performance, and installations made from found objects, Zhao reflects on oppression by the Chinese government.
Prior to his show at Roberts & Tilton, Zhao will be exhibiting in the upcoming Yokohama Triennial. Zhao’s work has been included in group shows at the Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea in Milan, MoMA PS1 in New York, the Museum of Asian Art in Berlin, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai, and the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing.
