

Alex Needham has been named the new arts editor for the Guardian in London, where his duties will include editing the daily arts and reviews pages in the newspaper’s features section, overseeing online culture coverage, and working with the publication’s arts news reporters. He had worked previously as the New York-based arts editor of the Guardian‘s American and Australian editions before taking up a position as digital editor in London.
Needham has worked at the Guardian for eleven years. Prior to that, he was at the British music and style magazines Smash Hits, the Face, and NME, where he was deputy editor. He has also written for other publications including Fantastic Man, W, 032c, Liberation, and T: The New York Times Style Magazine.
