MICHAEL UNDERWOOD/COURTESY THE ARTIST AND FREEDMAN FITZPATRICK
Pictures at an Exhibition presents images of one notable show every weekday.
Today’s show: Amelie von Wulffen at Freedman Fitzpatrick, which is on view at Freedman Fitzpatrick in Los Angeles through May 2, 2015. These new paintings by the Berlin-based artist are funny and dark. As the gallery’s news release puts it: “von Wulffen’s avatars bare the loneliness of children in old paintings and on milk cartons.” They have great titles too, like Untitled (birth of an alcoholic) (2015) and Untitled (booty dance march in the mountains) (2014).
