After more than six years as editor in chief of Art in America, Lindsay Pollock announced today that she will be stepping down to pursue other projects. Pollock, who began her tenure in 2011, was the seventh editor in the 104-year history of the magazine, which is owned by Art Media Holdings, the parent company of ARTnews. This afternoon Pollock sent the following email to colleagues:
Dear Friends,
As we wrap up our June/July issue, I wanted to let you know that, after six years as Editor in Chief of Art in America, I have decided the moment is right to move on to other projects and possibilities. It has been a great honor to work with such a talented and loyal group of editors, designers, production managers and sales representatives at this distinguished magazine.
I am also grateful for the hundreds of writers and artists who have collaborated with us over the years. Their generosity of spirit was genuinely inspiring, while the ongoing respect and support of our readers made my role rewarding each and every day.
Lindsay Pollock
