Artadia San Francisco has released the names of the five finalists for the 2016 San Francisco Artadia Awards. The finalists, Mitzi Pederson, Josh Faught, Simone Bailey, Will Rogan, and Ruth Laskey, were chosen from a pool of 490 applicants living and working in the Bay Area.
The jury was made up of curators from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Studio Museum in Harlem, and the Cincinnati Art Museum, and will proceed by conducting studio visits in order to choose two artists to receive the unrestricted $10,000 prize. This year marks the ninth time Artadia has awarded a San Francisco prize.
An exhibition of work by past San Francisco Artadia awardees will open at Minnesota Street Project in San Francisco on September 10.
