Artadia: The Fund for Art and Dialogue, the nonprofit arts organization started in 1997 by Christopher E. Vroom, has announced that it will award $12,000 each to Larissa Bates, Ria Brodell, and Lucy Kim as part of its third cycle of grants for Boston-area artists.
The artists were selected by a jury that included Bartholomew Ryan, the assistant curator of Minneapolis’s Walker Art Center, Gretchen Wagner, the artistic director and chief curator at the Oklahoma Contemporary and Marfa Contemporary, and Christopher Bedford, the director of the Rose Art Museum.
That jury worked from a list of 10 finalists selected from 389 applicants by Bedford, Ruba Katrib, the curator of Long Island City’s SculptureCenter, and painter Ryan Sullivan.
Artadia also presents grants on a rotating basic to artists in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
