Artadia, a nonprofit that provides grants to artists around the United States, announced today that four people have joined its board of directors: artist Nick Cave, collector and real-estate professional Robert Brawner, lawyer Aurele Danoff Pelaia, and LACMA curator Franklin Sirmans.
The group also named a new slate of officers. They are: Marie Samuels as president, Laura Roberson Fisch as vice president, Marjory Graue as treasurer, and Margot Ziegler as secretary. Samuels takes the place of businessman Christopher Vroom, who founded Artadia. He remains with the organization with the title of Founder.
“All four appointments have strong connections and have been long-time supporters of Artadia’s mission, including Nick who is a 2006 Chicago Artadia Awardee and Franklin who has acted as an Artadia juror and editor of an Artadia publication,” Samuels said in a statement released to press. “Together with Robert and Aurele, they will each bring valuable insight to the organization.”
