COURTESY MUSEUM OF MODERN ART
After nearly 20 years at Artforum, Don McMahon will be the editorial director of the Museum of Modern Art’s publications department. He is currently the magazine’s executive editor.
McMahon begins his new position on May 30. He succeeds David Frankel, who retired from the position last year, and who is currently a contributing editor for Artforum.
“Don has long and broad experience in all aspects of the editorial process, and has worked closely with many leading writers, art historians, artists, filmmakers, and curators,” Christopher Hudson, MoMA’s publisher, said in a statement. “His great rapport and success with these authors, along with his demonstrated commitment to the highest editorial standards and his abilities in managing editorial staff and freelancers, will make him an effective and respected editorial leader.”
