Bronx Museum Plans Exchange With Cuba’s National Museum of Fine Arts, in First U.S.-Cuban Institutional Collaboration
The New York Times reports that the Bronx Museum of the Arts and the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana have planned a collaboration that will have the Bronx send 80 objects south this spring for the 12th Havana Biennial. Then, next fall, the Cuban museum will share parts of its collection with the Bronx.
The deal marks the first museum collaboration between the U.S. and Cuba since President Obama announced his intention to open up diplomatic relations with the country after 50 years of a strict U.S. embargo. Read more at The New York Times.
