Starting September 3, the Brooklyn Museum will no longer charge admission for visitors under 19 years old, The New York Times reports.
Director Arnold L. Lehman believes that young visitors “represent the future of all museums.”
“[W]e must do everything possible to make it easier for them to visit,” he said.
To compensate, suggested general admission fees for adults will rise from $12 to $16. Adults over 62 and students with a valid I.D. will be asked to pay $10 instead of $8.
