CAA has received an anonymous gift of $1 million dollars, which will establish a Fund for Travel to Special Exhibitions aimed at helping art history students and professors visit shows that are pertinent to their studies, whether within or beyond the United States. Awards from the fund will be granted through a jury comprised of one member of the CAA Board of Directors who is an art historian and four at-large art-historians who are also CAA Members, one of whom will be a museum curator.
The executive director of CAA, Hunter O’Hanian, said in a release, “This incredibly generous gift will not only support art history scholars and students for years to come, it is a powerful message to the visual arts field that their work is as important as ever. The new Fund also reinforces CAA as the preeminent organization supporting and advancing professionals in the visual arts and design.”
