The Cape Ann Museum in Gloucester, Massachusetts, has appointed Oliver Barker as its director. Barker, who begins on April 1, will take the reins from Ronda Faloon, who announced her retirement after serving as executive director since 2006.
Most recently, Barker worked at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts as manager of foundation, government, and international relations. Prior to that, he had worked as curator and projects director for the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation.
Barker said in a statement, “CAM has a critical role to play in our community, and I greatly look forward to working with the Museum’s talented staff, dedicated Board, volunteers and members to realize the Museum’s vision of continuing to strengthen its relevance in the Cape Ann community and becoming one of the finest regional museums in the United States.”
