The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University announced today that Carla Acevedo-Yates and Steven Bridges have been promoted and will now be associate curators. Together, at the museum, they currently organize “Field Station,” a cycle of projects that highlights the work of six artists every year.
Acevedo-Yates has worked at the museum as an assistant curator since 2016. She is currently curating an exhibition about the conceptual artist David Lamelas.
Bridges joined the MSU Broad in 2015; he recently curated “Michigan Stories: Mike Kelley and Jim Shaw” with Acevedo-Yates and museum director Marc-Olivier Wahler.
In a statement, Wahler said of Acevedo-Yates and Bridges, “Their contributions have been integral to supporting the mission of the museum as innovative, collaborative, and interdisciplinary. I am delighted that together they will guide the strong curatorial vision of the MSU Broad.”
