The College Art Association announced that Kerry James Marshall and Faith Ringgold are among those receiving its 2017 Awards of Distinction, which are given annually artists, critics, curators, and historians who have had a significant impact on the art world. They will receive their awards this February at a conference in New York.
Among those being recognized for their writing are Laura U. Marks, who recently published the book Hanan al-Cinema: Affections for the Moving Image, and Ruth Fine, who edited the catalogue for the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts’ Norman Lewis retrospective.
