Cristian Valsecchi will join the Fondazione Prada in Italy as general manager in May. A former director of the Italian fair Artissima, Valsecchi will oversee all of the foundation’s departments and activities.
Valsecchi is currently secretary general of Fondazione Torino Musei and Associazione dei Musei d’Arte Contemporanea Italiani. He was formerly a professor of economics for arts and culture at the University of Bergamo.
Established in 1993, Fondazione Prada has two venues in Milan and one in Venice. The organization stages art exhibitions, talks, installations, events, and film screenings around the world. Work by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Gianni Piacentino, Steve McQueen, and many others have been shown at the institution.
