The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas, has appointed Jennifer Padgett as assistant curator. Previously, she worked as a research assistant in the museum’s curatorial department and was an awardee of Crystal Bridges’s 2016 Tyson Scholar fellowship.
In her role as assistant curator, Padgett’s work will include contributions to exhibition planning, publications, research, and collection growth. She will focus specifically on American art from the 1900s to 1960s, and will also help organize the reinstallation of the museum’s modern art galleries this summer.
In a statement, Padgett said of her new position, “I am excited to continue pursuing my passion for sharing American art at Crystal Bridges. My academic focus on artists making art more approachable aligns with the museum’s mission of access. I look forward to furthering my research in this area and continuing to help make modern American art engaging for all our visitors.”
