The Whitney Museum announced a number of staff promotions today, including Dana Miller, who was appointed as the Richard DeMartini Family Curator and Director of the Collection, a newly endowed position named for the president of the Whitney’s board of trustees.
The Whitney’s deputy director, Scott Rothkopf, said of Miller in a statement, “No one knows the Whitney’s collection better than Dana[.]” Miller has worked as a curator in the permanent collection at the museum since 2009, and helped organize the Whitney’s inaugural show at its new building, “America Is Hard to See.”
Other promotions were Jane Panetta to associate curator; Claire Henry to assistant curator; Laura Phipps to assistant curator; and Elisabeth Sherman to assistant curator.
