The Tacoma Art Museum in Washington state has appointed David Setford as its new executive director. He takes over from interim executive director Mark Holcomb, and will officially begin his position on March 5.
Setford comes to TAM from the Spanish Colonial Arts Society and Museum of Spanish Colonial Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he was executive director since 2014. Prior to that, he had been the executive director of the Hyde Collection in Glens Falls, New York.
In a statement, Setford said, “I’m so excited to be moving to Tacoma and the Pacific Northwest, and joining the Tacoma Art Museum. TAM is a real gem, renowned across the country for its progress over the last 20 years, as well as for its amazing collections.”
