Pictures at an Exhibition presents images of one notable show every weekday.
Today’s show: “Deborah Willis: In Pursuit of Beauty: Imaging Closets in Newark and Beyond” is on view at the Shine Portrait Studio in Newark, New Jersey, through Friday, December 21. The solo exhibition, curated by Kalia Brooks Nelson, presents more than 60 new and recent by the artist and NYU professor. (The exhibition space is located in the former Hahne & Company department store building, where James Van Der Zee worked as a darkroom technician for photographer Charles Gertz in 1911.)
