Dan Flavin’s icons–a series of transitional sculptures that led to the artist’s more famous fluorescent light installations–will go on view at Dia’s Dan Flavin Art Institute in Bridgehampton, New York, at the end of the month.
The works were last seen in Manhattan in 1998, and in Bridgehampton in 2003. Five of the eight pieces in the series–made between 1961 and 1963–will be on view until April 30, 2017.
The second floor of the Dan Flavin Art Institute has a permanent installation by the artist, completed in 1983 when the institute opened in a converted firehouse in Bridgehampton.
