The Art Newspaper reports today on a “document dump” in the federal case of Ann Freedman and her now defunct Knoedler gallery, which closed amid accusations of forgery.
Among the many revelations were that, in interviews, the “former head of the FBI’s art-crime team” found Freedman “credible and her actions ‘inconsistent with a fraudulent intent.'”
Correction 10/10 An earlier version of this post referred to to the “former head of the FBI’s art-crime team” as a representative of the FBI. That section, and the headline, has been fixed.
