The Frick Collection announced today that its board of trustees have elected Elizabeth “Betty” Mugar Eveillard to serve as the board’s new chair, beginning in June. She succeeds Margot Campbell Bogert, who has been the chair for the past 11 years and will continue to serve as a trustee.
Eveillard, a retired investment banker, has been on the Frick’s board since 2015 and endowed the museum’s chief conservation position. She was previously the board chair of Smith College, her alma mater. She also serves on committees for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Morgan Library and Museum. The Frick’s director, Ian Wardropper, said Evillard’s “deep engagement with the Frick and vast experience working with a range of cultural and educational nonprofits will greatly enrich our institution.”
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to build on the remarkable legacy of the Frick Collection as a haven for contemplative engagement with the arts,” Eveillard said in a statement.
