The University of Arkansas has named Gerry Snyder executive director of its art school, a newly created position. Snyder will begin with the university on July 1, coming from his current position as dean of Pratt Institute’s School of Art in Brooklyn.
Todd Shields, dean of the university’s College of Arts and Sciences, said in a release that Snyder “is exceptionally qualified for this position, as an internationally recognized artist with experience building facilities and programs from the ground up at top art institutes.”
Alongside his role as executive director, Snyder will hold the position of distinguished professor of art, as well as that of special adviser to the chancellor for arts integration.
