Pictures at an Exhibition presents images of one notable show every weekday.
Today’s show: “Groundings” is on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago through Sunday, May 12. The group exhibition presents work from the museum’s collection in which “movement is integral to the artistic process,” according to a press release. Among the artists included are Jimmy DeSana, John Cage, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Rashid Johnson, Carrie Mae Weems, and Annette Kelm.
The exhibition is also accompanied by a series of six performance residencies throughout the run of the show: Anna Martine Whitehead (January 15-19), Mariana Valencia (January 29–February 2), Rosé Hernandez (February 26–March 2), Jennifer Harge (March 19–23), Patricia Nguyen (March 26–30), and Brandon Markell Holmes (April 2–6).
