The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation has reappointed Gail May Engelberg to its board of trustees. She had previously been on the foundation’s board from 1997 to 2006.
For nearly 20 years, Engelberg has chaired the Guggenheim Museum’s Education Committee, and she also endowed the deputy director position in the museum’s education department. Engelberg is also a member of the Guggenheim Foundation’s International Director’s Council.
Wendy Fisher, the foundation’s president, said in a statement, “Gail’s vital work in arts education has contributed to establishing the Guggenheim’s leadership in the field. Her support will continue to advance the museum’s commitment to creating dynamic and meaningful programming.”
