The Hammer Museum at the University of California, Los Angeles, has added two new members to its board of directors, Jay Brown and Cindy Miscikowski, as well as two new appointees to its board of overseers, Bill Block and Darren Star.
Jay Brown works in the music industry, as co-founder and CEO of Jay-Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation, and Miscikowski is known as a philanthropic leader in L.A. Their appointments bring the Hammer’s number of board members up to 22.
For the board of overseers, Block is an entertainment executive currently serving as the CEO of Miramax, and Star has created and executive produced television shows such as Sex and the City and Beverly Hills, 90210.
Hammer director Ann Philbin said in a statement, “Cindy Miscikowski, Bill Block, Jay Brown, and Darren Star are all extraordinarily talented individuals who are passionate about art and the creative culture of Los Angeles. I am so thrilled to work with them during this exciting transformational time at the Hammer.”
Marcy Carsey, chair of the Hammer’s board of the directors, added, “The Hammer is in a period of extraordinary growth, and each one of these remarkable people brings a particular wealth of expertise which will guide the museum into the future.”
