COURTESY THE HAMMER
COURTESY THE HAMMERThe Hammer Museum in Los Angeles has made three new appointments to its board of directors and board of overseers. Linda Janger has joined the board of directors; Glenn Kaino and Dean Valentine have been added to the board of overseers.
Janger, a Los Angeles–based collector, had previously been on the museum’s board of overseers, which she joined in 2004. She and her late husband, Jerry Janger, gifted works by Analia Saban, Yasumasa Morimura, Kiki Smith, and others to the Hammer over the years.
Valentine, the founder of the media investment fund Symbolic Action, served a previous stint on the museum’s board of overseers, from 2007 to 2012. (In 2009, 50 works by Los Angeles–based sculptors gifted by Valentine and Amy Adelson were the subject of an exhibition at the Hammer.) Kaino, for his part, is new to the board of overseers and is now the third artist in its ranks, along with Barbara Kruger and Lari Pittman.
