Multimedia artist Doug Aitken has just released, via Wired, a new video created from edited footage of 15-second videos captured over thirty days during the summer. You might recall Aitken’s project, Station to Station in which he transported a trainful of visual and musical artists, filmed some 200 hours of footage along the way, and posted it all online.
The segments each capture moments from his 30-day happening–– a live reincarnation of the Station to Station project–– which took place at the Barbican. Aitken unveiled the 15-second segments sequentially on Instagram and ultimately produced a completed compilation (Wired calls it a “kaleidoscope film”) that spans a mere 7.5 minutes.
