Today’s show: “Homo Ludens” is on view at Galeria Luisa Strina in São Paulo through Saturday, November 5. The group exhibition, curated by Ricardo Sardenberg, shares its name with the book by Dutch historian Johan Huizinga and translates to “Playing Man.” As Sardenberg writes in the show’s press release, “The Homo ludens goes back to the cave and suggests the contemporary artist as some sort of super-mediated cave painter.” The exhibition includes work by Bas Jan Ader, Alexander Calder, Cildo Meireles, Ernesto Neto, and Dieter Roth, among others.
