Ireland’s EVA International Biennial has appointed Inti Guerrero the curator of its 38th edition taking place in Limerick, Ireland from April 14 through July 8, 2018. As curator, Guerrero will help oversee the international open call for artist proposals that launches this September.
Colombian-born Guerrero is the current curator of Latin American Art for the Tate in London. Having received training through the Curatorial Programme at the De Appel arts centre in Amsterdam, Guerrero worked from 2011 to 2014 as the Associate Artistic Director and Curator of TEOR/éTica, an independent art space in San José, Costa Rica. This year Guerrero took on Neptune, a year-long curatorial project in Hong Kong, the city where he is currently based.
In a press statement Guerrero commented on how “deeply honored” he was to be appointed curator of EVA International, “a groundbreaking exhibition that has contributed to reimagining internationalisms.”
