Contemporary Istanbul, whose 14th edition is scheduled for September, has tapped Anissa Touati to be its artistic director, and Esra Özkan as its curator of Plugin, the fair’s new-media section.
Touaiti, an independent curator, said in a statement to press, “For the 14th edition of Contemporary Istanbul, we will reflect on the question of Mediterraneanism, exploring the unification of the basin from the past to the present day. I look forward to working to further build strategic partnerships, forging relationships with organizations both locally and internationally, enhancing what has been achieved to date.”
The fair will take place from September 12 to 15, coinciding with opening of the 16th Istanbul Biennal at the Istanbul Congress Center and Convention and Exhibition Centre.
