Today, in a Dazed interview with the director of the forthcoming German “Techno Horror Film” Der Nachtmahr, it was revealed that the artist and former Sonic Youth member Kim Gordon appears in the movie and contributes music to the film’s soundtrack.
Dazed reports that Gordon was a “big fan” of Der Nachtmahr director Akiz’s previous film–the biopic Eight Miles High, about the 60s German countercultural legend Uschi Obermaier–and as a result signed on to play the part of a William Blake-quoting teacher. Dazed offered this blurb about the film: “Re-set Spring Breakers in Berlin, mix in a sinister version of E.T., the dream logic of David Lynch’s Lost Highway and a strong tab of acid, and you’re near the feel of Der Nachtmahr.”
Gordon has been staying busy lately. She was the subject of a recent show at 303 Gallery, and earlier this year published her memoir, the New York Times bestseller, Girl In A Band.
Der Nachtmahr has its international premiere at Locarno Film Festival this week. Watch a trailer below.
