The Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles announced today that Peter Morton will now be a member of its board of trustees. The board is currently co-chaired by Maurice Marciano and Lilly Tartikoff Karatz.
Morton is the co-founder of the restaurant chain Hard Rock Café, which, since opening its first location in 1971 in London, has expanded all around the world. Though MOCA is the first museum board Morton has been on, he has helped Los Angeles institutions in the past. In 2003 Morton donated $10 million to UCLA, and the medical building was re-named after him.
