Pictures at an Exhibition presents images of one notable show every weekday.
Today’s show: “Lewis Stein: Works from 1968–1979” is on view at Essex Street in New York through Friday, December 22. The solo show presents historic work by the artist. As the exhibition moved into its final days, the gallery recently announced that Stein’s Siren (ca. 1977) will be aurally activated between 5 and 6 p.m. each day. (A video of the sound-intensive activation is included below.)
