The Ohio State University’s Wexner Center for the Arts announced today that it has hired Michael Goodson as senior curator of exhibitions, effective July 1. Currently, Goodson serves as the director of exhibitions at Columbus College of Art & Design in Ohio.
At CCAD’s Beeler Gallery, Goodson curated solo shows by artists such as Charles Atlas, Fred Tomaselli, Dennison W. Griffith, Donald Moffett, and Diana Al-Hadid.
His group show credits include shows such as “My Crippled Friend,” which featured work by Mary Heilmann, Rich Aldrich, and Cheryl Donegan; “Sitter,” which included work by Dawoud Bey, Rineka Dijkstra, Robert Beck, and Catherine Opie, and “WALL,” which featured work by Sol LeWitt, Jennifer Steinkamp, Nari Ward, and Jim Hodges.
Before joining CCAD, Goodson worked as exhibition director at James Cohan Gallery, where he organized shows for artists such as Robert Smithson, Beatrize Milhazes, Yinka Shonibare, Trenton Doyle Hancock, and Roxy Paine.
Goodson holds a B.F.A. in sculpture from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and an M.F.A. in sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
